Electrolysis

Permanent, one follicle at a time.

Electrolysis is the only method recognised as permanently removing hair, and it has more than a century of practice behind it. A short wave frequency travels down an ultra-fine probe placed into the follicle and destroys the root.

Excess hair on the face, arms, legs or abdomen can follow a genetic pattern, a hormonal imbalance, medication or stress. Electrolysis treats any hair colour and texture, on any skin tone, on areas laser cannot reach.

Every client is offered a complimentary first consultation. The electrologist looks at your skin, your history of hair growth, the likely cause and the probable length of treatment before anything begins.

All treatments are carried out by licensed and certified electrologists. The practice is a member of the Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal and the International Guild of Professional Electrologists.

Laser

A faster option across larger areas.

Laser hair removal covers large areas quickly, which makes it well suited to the back, underarms, legs and bikini line. Your skin tone, hair colour, the area and your goals are all assessed before a course is recommended.

The beam is delivered through a small hand-held probe that rests lightly on the skin. A light spray of coolant goes on just before each pulse, and a cooling process protects the upper layers of skin throughout. Safety glasses are worn.

Depending on the area, a session runs from about fifteen minutes to an hour. Most people need a course rather than a single visit, and how many depends on hair coarseness and on skin and hair colouring.

We also use laser for skin tightening, rosacea, sun spots, facial and leg capillaries, and photo rejuvenation.

Waxing & sugaring

Temporary, and done properly.

Waxing is quick and efficient and uses the purest honey wax, which exfoliates dead cells and suits all skin types. It is carried out by experienced licensed cosmetologists.

Sugaring works in a similar way and dates back to the ancient civilisations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece. The paste is made from entirely natural ingredients, and removes hair while exfoliating the skin.

Both are temporary methods. If you are looking for something lasting, electrolysis is the conversation to have.
